function

scipy.interpolate._bsplines:_norm_eq_clamp_preprocess

source: build-install/usr/lib/python3.14/site-packages/scipy/interpolate/_bsplines.py:242

Signature

def _norm_eq_clamp_preprocess(ab, rhs, n, k, extradim, ci, cf)

Summary

Apply the clamp preprocessing to the banded matrix and RHS for the norm-eq path.

Extended Summary

Clamped LSQ: pin spl(x[0]) = ci and spl(x[-1]) = cf.

For a clamped knot vector, only B[0] is nonzero at x[0] and only B[nc-1] is nonzero at x[-1] (both with value 1). So spl(x[0]) = c[0] and spl(x[-1]) = c[nc-1], clamping the endpoint values reduces to pinning the first and last coefficients.
