Summary

Generate an elementary reflector (LAPACK slarfg).

Extended Summary

Produces the H with H @ [alpha, x] == [beta, 0], described by the returned alpha (which becomes beta), x and tau.

Parameters

n : int: Order of the reflector, at least 1.
alpha : float: The leading entry of the vector to reflect.
x : ndarray: The remaining entries, 1 + (n - 2) * abs(incx) of them.
incx : int, optional: Stride through x. Default is 1.
overwrite_x : int, optional: If nonzero, x may be overwritten in place. Default is 0.

Returns

alpha : float: The resulting beta.
x : ndarray: The reflector vector.
tau : float: The reflector scalar.
