lapack_function

scipy.linalg._flapack:zlarf

source: build-install/usr/lib/python3.14/site-packages/scipy/linalg/_flapack.cpython-314-x86_64-linux-gnu.so

Signature

def zlarf(v, tau, c, work, side = L, incv = 1, overwrite_c = 0)

Summary

Apply an elementary reflector to a matrix (LAPACK zlarf).

Extended Summary

Computes H @ c or c @ H for the reflector H described by v and tau.

Parameters

v : ndarray

The reflector vector, 1 + (order - 1) * abs(incv) entries, where the order is the row count of c when side is 'L' and its column count when 'R'.

tau : complex

The reflector scalar.

c : ndarray

Matrix to apply the reflector to.

work : ndarray

Workspace, length n when side is 'L' and m when 'R'. This is a required argument only for backwards compatibility -- the .pyf says so itself -- and would otherwise be allocated internally.

side : str, optional

'L' for H @ c, 'R' for c @ H. Default is 'L'.

incv : int, optional

Stride through v. Default is 1.

overwrite_c : int, optional

If nonzero, c may be overwritten in place. Default is 0.

Returns

c : ndarray

The result, overwriting c.
